I was a student of Ms. Grants' at The Berkeley Institute. My graduation class of 1979 would have many reunions over the years and she was one of our Teachers that would always attend. I reconnected with her this year as she was my mother's roommate at KEMH. We would talk about many memories during those school days. I shared that math was not my best subject but somehow she got me to understand Algebra and do well. She didn't stand for any nonsense, I was caught chewing gum in class, I had to stand up with the gum stuck stuck on my nose for the duration of class....she laughed when I shared this. She would whatsapp chat to my classmates....telling them to have a wonderful day many times. Once after a conversation we shared...she asked for my phone to send a message. She said...in her velvety smooth voice, not missing a beat..news bulletin..news bulletin....hot off the press Tanya is MJ's wife (a joke with my classmates)....lol. She was so funny and I am blessed to have spent those months with her. To her family, friends, many students my sincere condolences....she was an amazing woman and she is gone too soon. SIP Ms. Grant

I am sending my condolences to the family and friends of Ms. Sonia Grant, I was saddened immediately hearing of her passing, We were roommates for several months this year. I call her MY LAWYER and she said to me - okay Tanya and Andre's mother. Sending prayers of comfort to you all.
