TERRENCE DRAYCOTT Obituary

A cremation ceremony celebrating the life of TERRENCE 'TERRY' JOHN DRAYCOTT, much-loved husband of Mary, will be held at Oakley Wood Crematorium, Bishops Tachbrook, Leamington Spa, UK, on Friday, May 24th, 2024 at 1.30pm. Born the son of Frederick 'Freddy' and Jessie May 'Jo' Draycott in 1946, Terry grew up in Devonshire, among the notorious 'Green Lane Crew'. He provided a wonderful life for two pretty-ok children, Cathie (no) and Simon (Katy), and is also survived by his granddaughters Holly and Rosie. Terry will be remembered for his love of rugby, M*A*S*H, and his family. He was a popular historic member of the BMDS, having served in multiple capacities, not just behind the bar, and was what can only be described as the key member of the Renegades rugby team. A successful businessman, he built up the Draycotts of Bermuda wholesaling business as a brand before branding was a thing, inadvertently becoming the world's first influencer. The service will be live-streamed (https://www.wesleymedia.co.uk/webcast-viewLogin PIN 788-4992. Instructions https://clientportal.wesleymedia.co.uk/email-template/webcast_viewing_instructions.pdf). No flowers, donations to your favourite charity. Please wear bright colours, sing, and love the ones you're with. A Bermuda-based celebration will take place in due course.

Mary, Katherine and Simon,
My sincere condoences on the passing of Terry. He was truly a lovely man. He was kind, generous - and had a great sense of humour! In my early years in Bermuda he kindly involved me in his passion for tennis, and I truly appreciated the effort he made for me. Whenever I have seen him in recent years he would always stop and chat - it was great to catch up on the family news. It was a shock to me to hear of his passing so I can't imagine how you all feel at his loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
