My deepest belated condolences to Erskine, Sonia, and the Simmons family as I have just learned of Michelle´s passing back in August.
My late husband, the Reverend Canon Norman Lynas and I both loved Michelle and had great respect for her intelligence, her kindness, compassion and more.
I know that their Heavenly reunion could only have been very joyful one.
My deepest condolences too, to to the family of the Cathedral of the Most Holy Trinity and to all those who worked with Michelle and her many capacities to make Bermuda, a better place.

Whenever Michelle's name is mentioned -- which is quite often by my wife Jocelyn, who worked as one of Michelle's teachers at the Berkeley Institute -- I get a gentle sense of the person who always greeted me with a warm smile and shining eyes. Behind the smile lived a chorus of the finest human qualities: genuineness and goodwill, integrity and a.sweet kindness, not to mention a deftly-honed, intellectual power.
This is a memory that I shall forever treasure. For, I am grateful to have crossed her path.

I am so sad to hear of Michelle's passing. She was always a delight to be around and helped to make my husband, Father Tom, and myself, welcomed while we lived in Bermuda. I think of her and Erskine coordinating meals at the Caring Place each month at St. Peter's until Covid hit. Michelle attended our Stations of the Cross, at Chapel of Ease in St. David's, during Lent, and she looked forward to it. To her family, I offer my condolences and pray for comfort during this time of loss. Michelle was a true lady and example of one who not only claimed her faith but lived it. I'm thankful for the time I had to get to know her. She will be missed, but her kindness will not forgotten.

Mrs. Simmons will forever be one of my favorite teachers. She pushed me to excel during my time at BHS, accepted nothing less than my best, and took no excuses. She scared me a little (and I think some of the other girls), in her classroom her word was law. I remember seeing her over the years, and was always a little in awe of her. She will be missed.
