I was privileged to serve with Wayne in Training Company and A Company. He was an excellent SNCO and the backbone of the the PNCO Cadre and 2 Platoon, A Company. Everyone who knew him must understand and surely agree that he was a big man with a big heart. My deepest condolences to his family.

Jackie, Gary & the entire Bascome & Augustus families, I am so sorry that you have to go through this indescribable pain of losing Wayne, whose smiles lit up the room he was in, oh what personality he had, would not pass me by without a hug or a wave. Wayne (Gussy) was an amazing colleague and ambassador in the CCS family. We will forever miss his smile and quirky laughter that warmed our very souls even at the worst of times. Gus was our taxi driver several years ago and then became one of our favourite bartenders. He was always smiling, the soul of any party and always had us laughing. He will be sorely missed and our love goes out to Holly and her children at this extremely difficult time.
