Bill was a bright light in our family. He brought his characteristic gentle good humour and illuminated hearts and minds wherever he went. We were so happy that he enjoyed visiting the River House in The 1000 Islands. Bill was an inspiration on how to age with grace and kindliness, with a twinkle in his eye and a ready smile. He helped so many people in his long career and life that I´m sure the balance of karma has swung towards goodness! Dr Bill Cooke was a true gentleman and an important doctor who maintained a rapport with the medical community in Canada and beyond. Bill was a generous, sweet and warm hearted friend to my late mother Joy and for that we will be forever delighted. I extend my sincere condolences and respect to Bills family during this momentous time.

We moved to Bermuda in 1963 and Dr. Cooke was our neighbour for awhile in the Seabright area. A very good man and I will never forget his lightening fast diagnosis of a medical issue of mine and the quick relief by means of the right prescription.

One of the very best people there's been. So kind and caring for do many on the island, and I have such fond memories from my childhood spent at his house on Trimmingham Hill. My condolences to all who loved him, especially Jim and Kathy.

I have fond memories of Dr Cooke as I worked with him at KEMH a number of years ago. During his time I found him to be so professional, quiet, but powerful. May his legacy be celebrated by his family and those whose lives he touched. He was among those who filled the hospital corridors with caring and provided care full of dignity and equity. May he rest in peace. Gaynell
