I worked with Bill from 1973 to 1985 at The Globe Press in Bermuda. I applied for the position as a letterpress machine operator, along with about forty other hopeful applicants. I think that I was successful because of Bill reviewing my humorous application, and his dry British sense of humor. There were a couple of other unimportant things such as qualifications etc.
Bill was a great guy to work with and managed to move the company forward and expand into offset printing. Bill arranged for me to attend a training course at the Heidelberg Printing Machine factory in Germany, which certainly helped me when I left Bermuda to go to California with my future wife Sandy in 1989.
During the 12 years that I worked with Bill, I managed to meet his wonderful wife Joan, and their two very intelligent daughters Joanna and Chrissy who are now doing very well in the US. Working at the Globe Press with Bill never seemed to feel like a job as it was a well organized fun company. After Bill and the family moved to the US we kept in touch and met them in Carmel Ca for a weekend. I'll miss the phone chats that Bill and I often had discussing Bermuda life, politics, Great Britain and just about everything else.
