William (Sonny) was like family to me. He was the only father that my ex husband knew growing up. He (and his late wife, Shirley) was very kind to me and my family. I have very fond memories of him, always lending a helping hand whenever needed. Had many visits, dinners out, etc with he and his wife. I'm very saddened to learn of his passing. My deepest sympathy and condolences to his son Stephen. RIP Sonny!! You will always be remembered and loved!!

To Stephen and family. I want to big up William (aka to us on the dock as 'Tweety Bird'.) One of the nicest, most gentle person I had the pleasure of working with for 12 years on the Hamilton dock. Tweety, taught me how to drive a fork lift. At the time, I was the only female dockworker amongst the guys there, and he was most patient and encouraging. It was always a pleasure to see him a few times in Dockyard, where we had great chats down memory lane. I am saddened to learn of his passing, and I will never forget him. May God be in your midst through this most sad and difficult time. Sincerely, Mrs Karolyn Swan

To all of The Winchell family. Having known Sunny for many years, I extend my deepest sympathies to you all. Sunny was like a brother to me and my family. He even called my parents Mom & Pop Watts, he was always happy go lucky and if he didn´t bring his Tomtoms along with him, a table or his knee would work just fine, as I say he was always "Sunny", again I send my condolences, thoughts and prayers to you all. Rest in peace Sunny.

Deepest condolences to Stephen and family. Very saddened to hear of the passing of William. I worked with him at the former #7 freight shed at Stevedoring Services. He was a very humerous person who would always have us in stiches telling jokes in between serving customers. He was also a no nonsense person who would let you know where to get off if you got on the wrong side of him. He often mentioned Stephen and his pet cats. RIP William
