Antony Dobson BARBER

BARBER Antony Dobson 27th January 1928 - 20th July 2025. Tony passed away peacefully in a care home in Bristol where he spent the last 5 months of his life, to be near his family. He was loved deeply, and leaves his four children Anne, Matthew, Dominic and Marion and their families in Canada, New York, Bristol and Cambridge.  He was born in Grimsby, but spent over 60 years in Cornwall.  Working as a mining engineer for Holman Compair and with Camborne School of Mines. He was also proud, in 1971, to have been the first Catholic Mayor of Truro since the Reformation. A thanksgiving Mass will be held at Our Lady of the Portal and St Piran Catholic Church, Truro, at 2pm on Tuesday 2nd September where he worshipped for many years.
