Very sorry to hear of the sad Passing of David. Sadly only found out today, having missed the funeral. Having lived round the corner from David & Joy for many years, it is a real loss for the community. So sorry we had no idea. All our thiughts ho out to Joy and the Family. Very sad times.

I forgot to mention that to this day I play the songs that my brother and Dave wrote together. Bless him.

So sorry to hear of Dave's passing. I knew him well from pre-school days and primary school as my family had long vacations from London and we stayed with Geoff and Vera at Rectory Farm in the later 1950s and then we bought the Bush Inn and moved to Morwenstow in 1961 and Dave became our nearest neighbour and constant friend. Whilst at university, on my long holidays at home in Bude, I met him again quite often when he and my brother Melvyn were involved in a music band called Oak. I recall that Dave, heavily influenced by his liking for Donovan, wrote many great melodies for the band's songs. My brother is delving around trying to find old tapes of the band and I know we did have some cine-film footage of Dave in Rectory Farm garden back in the late 1950s. I envy him having the good fortune to stay in Morwenstow throughout his life - I became an economic exile from the area in 1981 and ended up in the Derbyshire Peak District - beautiful but no glorious coastline like Morwenstow, which Dave celebrated so many years ago in a song called 'Seagull' recorded solo for the Sounds Like North Cornwall album. My heart goes out to his family and friends.
