Gordon Moore Obituary

Moore Gordon William John Of St Stephen's, Launceston passed away at home on Monday 14th April. Father to Grenville and Keith, Grandfather to Aimée, Lisa, Megan and Alex. Funeral to be held at Werrington church on Wednesday 21st May at 2pm, followed by wake at Strawberry Fields, Lifton. All donations to go to the Alzheimer's Society.

Is this is the Gordon Moore that lived just down fron Homeleigh Garden Centre?
If so, as a boy I watched him play for Ashwater FC mainly at the chapel field in the late 1960's. He was part of a strike pair with Colin Martin. The team was very successful winning the Kingsley League and Cup several times- was the knock out cup a different name? They also got to the Devon Junior Cup Final against losing to a team from Lankey, Barnstaple, A very good player in a fantastic village team

I along with others have spent many happy hours fishing with Gordon from the banks of the Tamar to the rivers of Scotland. He always caught the biggest and most fish ,especially salmon. God has made a fine catch.
