MASLEN Elizabeth (nee Thomas) Died 28 September 2025 soon after her 90th birthday. She touched the lives of many people through her teaching, counselling, writing and friendship. Funeral to be held at Tavistock Parish Church on 28 October at 11 a.m. No flowers please. I had the immense privilege of being taught at Westfield by Elizabeth (1970-1973). She was one of the most humane and thoughtful of teachers. Of course she was an impressive scholar; but, more importantly, she was an approachable, kind human being. She cared passionately about her subject, enthused others and always had a kind word for her students. We were treated as individuals; we were listened to and tactfully, sensitively offered advice. I kept in contact with Liz for a few years after graduating ( and becoming an English teacher myself) and wish I had prolonged that friendship. My deepest sympathies are with her family.
