Susan Swain Obituary

SWAIN Susan Amelia  (née Selley) also known as The Crazy Lady, the looney with the long hair. Finally lost her battle, bravely borne, peacefully at home on Tuesday 17th February 2026, aged 74 years. Dearly loved and loving wife of the late Chris Swain (reunited). Exceptional daughter to the late Dick and Vera, Mother to Matthew and Craig and sister to Richard. Wonderful Auntie, Great Aunt and Godmother to Paul, Lynne, Jake, Millie, Heather, George, James, Shirine and Shaun. Steadfast and loyal friend to an abundance of people, many of whom knew her from her time at her second home, her beach hut or her time with the carnivals. She will be deeply missed by all her family and friends. One of a kind Funeral service to be held at St. Peter Chapel, Exeter and Devon Crematorium on Thursday 12th March at 12:30pm, preceded by a last journey down the Strand and up the Brunswick. Family flowers only please. Donations if desired to Rowcroft Hospice or by retiring collection. Susan requests you to wear something with a touch of turquoise please. The family would like to thank all the wonderful NHS staff who treated Susan at Torbay Hospital, particularly Dr. Tom Skinner. Also, the various carers who cared for her at home and the Rowcroft Hospice Team. The service will be streamed live from the crematorium.
