Ian Ashley THOMAS

Died 2nd January 2024 in Derby from complications after a long struggle with Parkinson's disease. Eldest son of the late Owen and Joyce Thomas of Llangorwen, older brother to Gwyneth, Alan, Gareth, Mari-an, and Alison, and pre-deceased by his older son Martin. He is survived by his wife, younger son Edward, and grandson Oscar. Ian was best known as the founder and director of The National Stone Centre in Derbyshire, among many other distinguished accomplishments in British minerals and quarrying. The funeral will be held on Monday 29th January at 2.30pm at Markeaton Crematorium, Derby DE22 4NH.
