Margaret Beckett Obituary

Beckett Margaret Alys Shetliff Sadly passed away peacefully at home on 2nd May 2025, aged 94. Much loved mother of Christopher, Philip and Christine and grandmother of Stephen, Robert, Aidan, Mairead and Owen.  Margaret will be greatly missed by all her family and friends. The funeral service will be held at St Mary's Priory Church, Abergavenny on Thursday 29th May 2025 at 10:30am followed by a private family burial. Family flowers only please.  Donations, if desired, to Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) and Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB). Enquires to Ted Williams & Sons.

I met Mrs. Beckett many years ago when she came to visit Phil in the U.S. We hadn´t really communicated after that but when her 90th birthday came around, Phil told me so I sent her a birthday card. She responded with a beautiful postcard of Wales with a lovely message. After that, I would send a birthday card each year and she would always respond with a postcard of Wales and a kind message. We also exchanged Christmas cards. I remember how proud she was of the beautiful welsh countryside and how her messages were always so descriptive and warm. I will always remember her kindness and thoughtfulness.

Will be greatly missed sorry unable to attend funeral as I should be there your with all the other angels now and will be looked after in heaven xx
