It is with great sadness that
the family of
Mr Graham Bird announces his death,
on October 31st 2023,
at the age of 89.
Graham passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jill, who he was happily married to for over 60 years. Graham will be lovingly remembered by his three children, Mark (Alison) Rebecca (Andrew) and Emma (Andy),
his grandchildren, Hannah (Dez), Josh, Ellie and James and two great-grandchildren, Ramona
and Gabriel.

Graham worked as Consultant General Surgeon at Pinderfields Hospital latterly specialising in breast cancer surgery, served as
Wakefield Hospice Chairman for ten years and was President of Wakefield Chantry Rotary Club. He was a lifelong advocate of the NHS, enthusiastic (but messy) cook and Scotch Whisky aficionado.

A service of remembrance will be held at Wakefield Crematorium, Standbridge Lane at 12.40pm
on Friday 17th of November
with a celebration of life to
follow at Notton Village Hall,
George Lane. All are welcome
to attend. The family requests
no flowers but please make
any charitable donations to
Wakefield Hospice.
