It is with very heavy hearts that we announce the death of our beloved father,
Stanley Briggs, who passed away quietly in his sleep on the
23rd February 2026.
Dad never stopped missing his beloved wife Dorothy, surviving her by 16 years, but at just short of his 95th Birthday, his wait to be with her again is now over,
Dad can now move forward and be with Mum again, along with our brother Tony who sadly passed only a few weeks before Dad.
Stanley, formerly of 56 Love Lane, Pontefract, and latterly of Newfield Lodge Care Home, Castleford, will be deeply missed by ALL of his family, friends and neighbours.
All of our love goes with you Dad … ALWAYS … Barry, Tony & Christine.
Stanley's Cremation will take place at 2:20pm on Thursday 19th March at Pontefract Crematorium. The family have requested that you are welcome to join them for the service OR there will be a 'Drive By" Dad's old house, The Limes, 56 Love Lane,
Pontefract just after 2:00PM on route to the crematorium, and later at The Hawthorns Guest House, Knottingley for refreshments.
At the family's request, donations for The Prince of Wales Hospice are being welcomed in lieu of flowers, a place always close to Dad's heart for the loving care they gave to his 'ONE LOVE' Dorothy, during her final days.
