It was with great sadness that we heard of Edna's death, she was a remarkable lady and did so much for protecting Wigan's wildlife and wild spaces. She was a stalwart of the Wigan Field Club for many years but also had many other interests, including pre-history and her local church history, St Thomas, Upholland. She was also a friend and the last trip we went on was to the Norman church of St John the Baptist in Chester, I was so jealous of her accounts of her drive up to Orkney to see the ancient sites there! Rest in Peace, Val and Peter.
