To Dad/Banks; a great storey teller and a throughly lovely person. I remember just after Paul and I were married; I was too shy to call Bob `Dad´. On the first evening that we stayed in their home, I said: `Goodnight Mr Ballantyne´... he said `Pardon?´ This exchange was repeated about 4 times before I realised what he was on about... `Goodnight Dad´. You will be sorely missed. Rest in peace.

I met Bob later on in life. Always sharing military stories and cracking jokes. He was extremely welcoming and it felt like knowing him and Nancy for years after the 1st cup of tea!
Nancy I am so sorry for your loss of this amazing man x
He will be missed x

I was lucky enough to have met Robert and his wife when I was still a child and friends with his 2 sons where we were at school together. I travelled down to Devizes on a number of occasions where they stayed at the time in the 1970´s and was immediately made to feel part of the family. A lovely gentleman who will be sorely missed by his family and friends.
My sincere condolences to all his family and deeply sorry that I can´t travel in person to be with them on the day
