Barbara Bond Obituary

Barbara Elizabeth Bond, 92, of Ocala, FL, passed away on Monday, October 27th, 2025 in Ocala, FL.
Barbara was born in Des Moines, IA on March 28, 1933. Her adoptive parents were Wilbert White Bond and Virginia Elizabeth (Carson) Bond. She attended High School in Des Moines and she worked as a secretary. She enjoyed counter cross stitch, reading novels, doing crossword puzzles and jigsaw puzzles. She liked computers, traveling, movies, board games and eating at restaurants. She played piano and played for audiences, receiving two Cavalcade of Music Honor Awards as a participant in the music competition of the Des Moines Register, earning a Superior and an Excellent Award. She also attained a National Honor Award in the National Federation Festivals, Junior Division for a piano solo at the age of 17. She also acted in stage plays, with one of her performances being the classic Gaslight play.
Barbara is survived by her son, Lawrence James Eason Jr; her granddaughter, Kimberly Cash; her grandsons, Matthew and Kyle Fluman; her nieces, Amy Carson Bond, Sheryl Hart Bond and her nephews Thomas Ewing Bond and grandnephew, Kevin Tierney. She also loved her dog, Precious immensely.
A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00pm on Wednesday, November 5, 2025 at Good Shepherd Memorial Gardens, 5050 SW 20th Street, Ocala, FL.
In lieu of flowers, the family wishes for donations to be made in her name to the ASPCA at secure.aspca.org.
