Gary Larsen Obituary

Gary M. Larsen of The Villages, FL passed away on April 10, 2025, at age 82, after a short battle with cancer. He is remembered by friends and family as loving and fun, with a wry sense of humor. Gary was born on April 14, 1942, in Green Bay, WI to Anthony and Mary (Margaret) Larsen. He graduated from Green Bay West High School in 1960 where he played football, making 2nd Team All-State. As a young man, he served three years in the U.S. Army and played semi-pro football for the Manitowoc Chiefs. In 1966, Gary met the love of his life, Judith. They married soon after and raised a family in De Pere, WI. For 34 years, Gary worked at Fort Howard Paper Company, now part of Georgia-Pacific. He and Judy retired to The Villages in 1990 where they quickly found a community of friends. Throughout his life, Gary loved sports and games and sharing these passions with those around him. He was a lifelong Packers fan, avid golfer, and master cribbage player. He also enjoyed travelling, especially driving cross-country, visiting Mexico, and cruising the Caribbean. Gary was preceded in death by his parents, sister Mary Paschen, son Drake Larsen, and stepson Gregg Fredrickson. He leaves behind his wife Judy, sister Lynn Pavlik, daughter Inga Back (Richard), stepson Jon Fredrickson (Vickie), six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Burial will be at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL.
