Henry Robert Dummett

Henry Robert Dummett, 83, of Nassau, Bahamas, passed away in Tampa, Florida February 4, 2025. He was born in Nassau, Bahamas on August 21,1941 to the union of Charles Beresford and Violet Inez. His parents preceded him in death. Henry graduated from St Augustine College. He married Charlene Mosby (mother of Charles) and later to Beverly Fields (mother of John and Denisa). Henry worked for Firestone as a store manager in East St. Louis, Illinois and later for Goodyear in Baden, Missouri. He had originally come to the St. Louis area to play professional soccer for the Polish National Alliance. During that time, St. Louis was the soccer capital in the States. Henry was a self employed as a general contractor later establishing Dummett & Sons Roofing Contracting Company where he was a master of many trades. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club, Ladue African American Pupil Support (LAAPS), St Louis Blues Track Club Parent Volunteer and had a passion for hunting, fishing, cooking and the world famous Junkanoo parade located in the Commonwealth of the Bahamas. He is survived by his children Henry II (Shantel), Charmane Coleby, Charles Beresford, Phyllis Ambrister, John "Jay" William, Denisa Danielle (Donnell). He is survived by his grandchildren Jalen Christopher, Gabrielle Alyse, Dallas Kenji, Bailey Raine, Henry III, Adriann ( Bubbles), and Kanaise. Clifford Waldron, Eleazer Beresford Dummett, Millicent Dummett, Luvie Dummett, Beryl Dunson, Chris Dummett who all preceded him in death. He leaves his beloved sisters Kathleen Dummett, Cynthia Pearson, Eileen Terry, Leota Osborne and Sister-in-Law Barbara Dummett. Funeral arrangements will be held at 9 AM, February 20, 2025, at St Paul Catholic Church located at 12708 N. Dale Mabry Hwy. Tampa, Florida 33618.
