Jean Renaker

Jean Renaker May 20, 1962 – September 24, 2025 Jean Renaker, 62, of Ocala, Florida, passed away peacefully in her sleep on September 24, 2025, after a courageous battle with heart disease. Born on May 20, 1963, in New London, Connecticut, Jean spent her early years in her hometown before relocating to St. Petersburg, Florida. She graduated from high school in 1981 and later pursued her passion for animals by studying veterinary medicine in Caldwell, Ohio. Though she chose a different path one year shy of completing her degree, her love for animals remained a constant throughout her life. Jean had a deep appreciation for the outdoors. Whether fishing in quiet waters or creating with her hands through woodworking, she found joy and peace in nature and craftsmanship. She was also an avid football fan-not loyal to any one team, but drawn in by the excitement and spirit of the game. She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Richard (2022) and Marion (2017). Jean is survived by her brother, Paul B. McGrath (Lydia); her nephew, Paul J. McGrath-Budharam (Soorindra); and her niece, Jennifer L. Mathews (Adrien). She also leaves behind her dearest friends, Maryann O'Conner and Jackie Byerrum; her close friend Henry Groffel; and her beloved Yorkshire Terrier, Tasha. Jean will be fondly remembered for her generous spirit, infectious smile, and the unwavering kindness she extended to everyone she met. Her warmth and presence will be missed deeply by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
