Jerrold DuPont Obituary
Jerrold Anthony DuPont 1938 – 2025
Jerrold Anthony DuPont, known to all as Jerry, passed peacefully from this life on October 19, 2025
The only son of Charles DuPont and Blanche Thompson, Jerry was raised in Worcester, Massachusetts, where, at the age of ten, he first picked up a golf club and discovered a passion that would shape a lifetime. What began as a young boy's game became the backdrop for countless cherished friendships and moments of joy. Jerry's love for the sport led him to become an active member of Manchester Country Club in New Hampshire, Cape Neddick Country Club in Maine, and Haig Point Club on Daufuskie Island, SC, where he was a Signature Member and served on the Board of Directors.
Jerry was blessed to share sixty-three years of marriage with his beloved wife, Joan- a partnership marked by unwavering devotion, joyful laughter, and countless adventures shared across the places they called home. Together, they built a remarkable life, raising their family in Bedford, NH, summering in the beauty of Ogunquit, Maine, finding serenity at Haig Point on Daufuskie Island, and enjoying the warmth of Summerfield, Florida.
As president of DuPont and Associates, Inc., Jerry cultivated meaningful business and personal relationships with banks and automobile dealers throughout New Hampshire and Maine. He was a fair and generous employer, admired and respected by all who worked alongside him, both at DuPont and Associates and at Toyota of Exeter.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Joan (China), three children, Susan, Debra, and Michael, and Michael's husband, Todd Welsch. He leaves behind two adoring granddaughters, Hailey and Piper Tremblay, who brought joy to his heart and deep pride to his spirit.
Those who were fortunate enough to know Jerry will forever carry the memory of his easy smile, his gentle humor, and his remarkable ability to make everyone in his presence feel truly valued.
A celebration of Jerry's life will take place next summer in Ogunquit, where family and friends will gather to honor his enduring legacy and share cherished stories of a life most beautifully lived.
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to Cornerstone Hospice Foundation or The Marginal Way Preservation Fund.
A life well lived is measured not in years, but in the love shared and the memories created. Jerry's measure was beyond compare.
