Lincoln Hunter Obituary
Lincoln Hunter affectionately known to many as Gismo was born in 1972 in Kingston, Jamaica to Merline Clarke and Ainsworth Hunter. He departed this life on October 6, 2025, in Ocala Florida.
He spent his formative years in the close- knit Community of Charles Town St Mary, where he was raised with love strength, and the deep-rooted values of family and Community.
In 1989, Lincoln and his brother Happy made a brave and life -changing move to migrating to America to be with their mother, in pursuit of new opportunities and a brighter future.
He attended, Evander High School graduating in 1991. Always a curious mind and a hands-on souls he went on to study ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING, driven by a desire to understand how things work and how he could build something better-not just with his hands, but with his life.
Lincoln was a man of many layers-practical yet passionate, grounded yet generous. While he had the mind of an Engineer, he had the heart of a Chef, cooking wasn't just a hobby for him it was a joy, a way to bring people together, to offer comfort and to share a bit of love on a plate. It's no surprise that he turned that passion into a business and became the proud owner of a food truck serving not just food, but warmth, laughter, and a taste of home.
Gismo has six children and three grandchildren. Adria, Keyon, Keyanna, Elizabeth, Kourtney and Lincoln JR. Grandkids Rayne, Sarai and Ayahanna. He and Kimberly Lewis, together they shared a life of love, family with two kids and Kourtney and Lincoln Jr. He was a son not only to Merline and Ainsworth, but also to his stepfather Dudley Lobban, each relationship unique in his own way.
He has a special bond with his brother Happy Grant very close together with his Niece Oliver Grant, step sisters- Maxine, Juddy, Andrea and Linnette, also with his Aunts Beverly, Beryl, Precious, Dahlia, Petula. Uncles Errol, George and David speaks to the wide and strong roots of his family tree. Lincoln was also the Cousin you can count on, who would always show up, make you laugh, feed you a good plate, and remind you what mattered most. Special Cousin Edrick, Colin, Tammy, Lulu, and David along, with a host of extended family and lifelong friends loyalty and unforgettable sense of humor.
In Nov. 2024 Lincoln decided to dedicate his life to the Lord Jesus. He repented of his sins and was baptized at Souls Harbor First Pentecostal Church. While we mourn his passing, we also give thanks for his life. The memories he left us with, his laughter, his wisdom, his love will never fade. His legacy lives on, the food he served, the love he gave, and the lives he touched.
Let us carry forward his spirit by being kind, by loving fiercely by working hard and by remembering that joy can often be found in the simple things like a well cooked meal, a warm hug, and time spent with those we love
Rest in peace Lincoln/Gismo Your journey here may have ended, but your light will shine in our heart forever.
