Waldo Banks Obituary

Waldo E. Banks, 87 from Leesburg passed away on May 2, surrounded by his loved ones after a long brave battle with Cancer. Waldo was born in Malden, Massachusetts to Russell and Evelyn Banks. He was married to the love of his life, Janice for 65 years. He served his military service in the Air Force and then as a member of Iron Workers Local 7 in Boston for 60 years after which he retired to Florida for the last 25+ years. His special interests were simple, he above all valued his family and was very proud of his family as his favorite accomplishment. He loved spending time with his family more than anything. He had a passion for cars and interest in coins. He served as VP on the board of the Scottish Highlands Homeowners Association for 14 years during his retirement. He is proceeded in death by his Mom and Dad, Russell and Evelyn Banks and his sister Carolyn and Brother Russell. He is survived by his wife, Janice Banks, his daughter Linda Lake and husband Mark Lake of Umatilla, Waldo Banks of Lynn Mass., his son Wayne Banks and wife Kimberley of Rowley Mass, his son John Banks of Leesburg, and daughter Christine Tangusso and her husband Mark of Eustis Fl. He is also survived by his sister Ginny of Rochester, NY and 12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He was the foundation of our family. A humble, steady, and deeply loving man whose legacy lives on in each of us. He was a wonderful husband, our dad, our Papa. We thank him for the life lived and shared, the love he gave, and the legacy he left us.
