Yvette Campbell Obituary

Yvette June Pamela Campbell, affectionately known as "June", was born on June 20, 1946, in Kingston, Jamaica. Sadly, our beloved June passed away suddenly on September 19, 2025, at the age of 79. She was precious to us and the loss of her life full of compassion, joy, and generosity, will be forever mourned. June was a proud graduate of Kingston Technical High School (Class of 1963). Following her passion for caring for others and her intrepid nature, she pursued nursing training at St. Helier Hospital in Surrey, England, UK, where she earned her degree and became a Registered Nurse. Throughout her distinguished career, she practised nursing in Jamaica, Canada, Texas and Florida, retiring in 2009 having completed decades of devoted service. Despite the demands of her career, June's love for life was expressed in her passion for music, dance, and community. Known for her gregarious spirit and infectious laughter, she made friends wherever she went. In quieter moments, she found solace and challenge in completing intricate jigsaw puzzles with patience. After completing these puzzles, June brought delight to a wide audience by sharing pictures with them. These shared moments made her an irreplaceable presence in the lives of everyone who knew her. June was beloved by her family. She was predeceased by her parents, Enos H. M. Campbell and Bernice A. Campbell, née Irvine, and in 2003, by her beloved son, Duane Patrick Campbell. Her warmth, generosity and loving nature will be cherished by her sisters, Beverley Patricia Butler and Sadie Merle Campbell, and by her brother, Howard Ivanhoe McCalla(Pauline). Her life was further enriched by her dear and special nephews, Robert, Steve (Sheri), and Richard. She also leaves behind beloved cousins, Jean, Lorna, Mark, Tanya, Ivan and Rasul and a wide and very dear circle of family and friends, especially her close friend, Lorna Johnson. As we bid farewell to June, we celebrate her presence and zest for life. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion, dedication, joy and love that will continue to inspire everyone who knew her.
