Kirk Graves Obituary

Kirk passed away peacefully at home in Asheville NC on August 30, 2025 with loved ones by his side. He was 63 years old. Kirk was born in St Albans and raised in Bakersfield, Vermont to parents Landon Russell and Denise Mary Madeline Graves Karpusiewicz.. In addition to his parents, Kirk was preceded in death by his brother Zane Russell Graves. Kirk is survived by his sister and brother in-law Anne Marie and Reginald Doughty, brother and sister in-law Ross Evan and Carol Graves and their families; and close friends of the family Carl and Chris Rash, Sandy and Steve Petty; and a delightful multitude of extended family members including: aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and in-laws. Special thanks to his caregiver Mrs. Kathleen Keys for her loving caring of Kirk in the past few years. Kirk spent much of his career as a professional commercial and residential flooring installer in and throughout the Asheville area. Kirk served his country right after high school with the Vermont National Guard Armory. Kirk was a kind and hardworking man who loved the outdoors, gardening, landscaping and would give you the shirt off his back to help you if you were in need. He also loved his many furry kitten and cat friends. A private family and close friends Celebration of Life service will be held in the Spring of 2026 (March or April) at Lake Louise, Weaverville NC followed up with a gravesite ceremony at Cedar Hill Baptist Church cemetery, Alexander NC.
