Paul Folse Obituary

Paul Bruce Folse, 78, of Mars Hill, NC passed away Thursday, October 23, 2025 at Charles George VA Medical Center in Asheville, NC. Paul was born on October 19, 1947 in New Orleans, LA to the late Earl Jacob Folse and Joycelyn Gibson Folse. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Janet Dianne Folse and half-brother, Scott Arnold. Paul was born and raised in the New Orleans area, attended St. Aloysius High School, Delgado College, Louisiana State University, and UNCA. He served in the U.S. Air Force in Vietnam from 1965 to 1971 and worked as a silkscreener for a printing company. A Unitarian Universalist, he was also an avid painter and photographer. Professional affiliations included the Association of Surgical Technologists (AST) (formerly the National Organization of Operating Room Technicians) and the American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA). Surviving Paul is his son, Joshua Folse of Asheville, NC; half-sister, Joyce Dale of New Orleans, LA; half-brother, Earl Jacob Folse II of Thibodaux, LA; grandchildren, Kaitlyn Folse, Jacob Folse, Ella Folse, Nicholas Folse; step grandchildren, Samantha Barker, Christian John "C.J." Barker of Indianapolis, IN; step-daughter, Jennifer Barker of Indianapolis, IN; and step-son, Christian Biesterfeldt of New York, NY.
