Judith Ernestine Marks

Judith Ernestine Marks, 87, of Battle Ground, passed away on Tuesday, September 30, 2025 at IU Health Arnett Hospital. She was born on August 11, 1938 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to the late Raymond Alfred and Virginia Annabel (Stewart) Von De Linde. Judith graduated from Shawnee-Mission North High School in Kansas City, Kansas, where she earned Outstanding Accounting Student of the Year. She then earned degrees from University of Missouri and Memphis State University. She also served as the Executive Director for the Public Schools Foundation of Tippecanoe County, and at one time was the Clerk-Treasurer and Town Manager of Battle Ground for twelve years. She was a recipient of the Sagamore of the Wabash award. On April 1, 1961, Judith was married to Dr. Jay Stewart Marks in Mission, Kansas. Jay preceded Judith in passing on March 19, 2025. They were members of St. James Lutheran Church in Lafayette. In her free time, Judith enjoyed cooking, sewing, reading, dancing, arts and crafts, singing, and researching genealogy. Judith is survived by her children, Karen Kay Earhart, Beth Ann Marks, and Andrea Dee (Keith) Williams; sister, Virginia Rae Topitzes; grandchildren, Christopher Lee Titus, Alissa Paige Salazar Cress, Henry Caleb Williams, Darian Nichole Williams, Devan Elise Williams, Katherine Alexa Williams, and Cameron Jay Walter Williams; and great grandchildren, Alexander Scott Titus and Charlotte Morana Cress. In addition to her parents and husband, Judith was preceded in death by her siblings, Ruth Ellan Von De Linde and Raymond Alfred Von De Linde. There will be a Graveside Service for Judith held at Battle Ground Cemetery on Sunday, October 5th, 2025 at 1:30 p.m. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to St. James Lutheran Church.
