Audrey Netzel Obituary

Audrey Netzel (Barth) passed away at home on April 25, 2025 at age 95. Born in Chicago on May 21, 1929, she proudly attended school at St. Alphonsus Church. She married the love of her life, Richard, in April of 1948. Audrey and Richard relocated their family to Scottsdale, Arizona in 1957 after Richard was offered an opportunity at a new Motorola plant. Audrey was involved in many social organizations in her community and enjoyed a long career with The Arizona Bank (beginning in the 60s) before retiring as Vice President in 1989 and stepping full-time into her most treasured promotion as a grandmother.
Audrey maintained a very full social calendar all her life and couldn't resist a nice lunch, and wore coordinating earrings and lipstick wherever she went. She was fiercely dedicated to her family and her community. In her retirement, she volunteered often at Mayo Clinic and Scottsdale Memorial Hospital, was the Queen Mother of the Red Hot Shady Ladies chapter of the Red Hat Society, and was a part of many other organizations including the Welcome Wagon. She and Richard enjoyed traveling the world and going on cruises, and making memories with their kids and grandkids.
She is survived by son Neal and wife Cheryl in Chicago, son Brian and wife Donna in Phoenix, grandchildren Ann, Kyle, Katie, and Neal, and five great-grandchildren: Sylvia, Layla, Luke, Liam, and Landon.
A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
