Constance Camille "Connie" Bayerque

Constance Camille (Connie) Bayerque, 100, passed away on September 10, 2025, in Scottsdale, AZ. She was married to Frank Bayerque Sr. of West Covina, CA. for 40 years prior to his passing in 1999. Connie was born in Lewiston ME, the third of five children of Ray and Emma Saucier. She attended elementary and high school in Lewiston, and joined the Army Cadet Nurses program to get her Registered Nurse certification during WWII. She continued to work as a nurse well into her 70's, though taking a long time off to raise her family. In search of warmer weather, Connie traveled with a nursing school friend across the country on a Greyhound bus to Pasadena, California. She later brought her youngest brother Maurice and parents to join her in sunny Southern California. On New Years Eve in 1957, she had a blind date with a handsome farmer, and in six months they were married. Connie and Frank had two children – Frank Bayerque Jr. (Belinda) and Ann Hammersly (Michael) - and raised them in love and faith. She was delighted to welcome granddaughter Monica Bayerque in 1999. A lifelong Catholic, she was most recently a member of St. Patrick Catholic Community in Scottsdale AZ. For the previous 58 years, she was a member of Sacred Heart Parish in Covina CA. She had many hobbies, including cooking, growing orchids, quilting, knitting, crocheting, and water aerobics and had a deep abiding love of chocolate (aka vitamin C!). Connie's Mass of the Resurrection will be held at St. Patrick Catholic Community on Wednesday September 17, 2025, at 11:30 AM.
