Debra Cheryl Roach

On Tuesday, August 26, 2025, Debra Roach, loving wife, mother and grandmother, passed away at the age of 72. Debra was born on November 27, 1952, in Oxford, MS to Robert and Laucene Clements. She received a Bachelor's degree in Education in 1973 and a Master's degree in Art Education in 1977 from the University of Mississippi in Oxford. Debra taught art education to middle school and elementary school students for a total of 39 years before retiring in 2010. On May 29, 1971, she married William L Roach, Jr in Oxford. Together they raised two sons, Les and Brian. In 1987, the family relocated from Oxford, MS to Sierra Vista, AZ where Bill and Debra lived until retiring to Surprise, AZ in 2010. Debra had a passion for the fine arts, particularly painting and pottery, and became an accomplished artist in her own right. She also had a love for teaching where she would share her passion for the arts with her students. She was known for her quick wit and her kind and compassionate spirit. Debra was preceded in death by her father, Robert, and her mother, Laucene. She is survived by her husband Bill, her two sons Les and Brian, her daughters in law Erin and Chrissy, and her four grandchildren, Kiersten, Jonathan, Aubrey and Kylie. A memorial service will be held on Monday, September 1, 2025, at the Camino Del Sol Funeral Chapel at 13738 W Camino Del Sol, Sun City West, AZ at 11am. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you simply donate to your local elementary or middle school art program in Debra's name.
