When I saw the post I didn´t want to read it. Mike and I were in the same class at Salpointe. He´s one of the guys that left a deep impression on me. He was someone I always admired for his kindness, wit, and charm. Sad to hear this

I will forever remember growing up with you throughout our years at St. Cyril´s and Salpointe. Though we lost touch after highschool I counted you as a lifelong friend. Thank you for your kindness, humor and for always making it loud and entertaining. My thoughts and prayers to your wife and babies and the entire Sanders family. You were so special Mike! I will never forget you

I learned of Mike's passing from another dear friend a few days ago. My condolences to the whole family. I hold fond memories of Salpointe swimming days with Jim, Mike and Chris. Mike always had a smile on his face. Although we lost touch, I am grateful to have known him and the Sanders family. Mike was a great guy and will be missed.

So very sorry to hear about Mike´s passing. He sounds like a man who had a well lived life though cut way too short. I wish the distance that separated us geographically was smaller and I got to know my cousin better. Sending so much love to Uncle Jim and Antoinette and my cousins Jim and Chris and their families and especially to Heidi, Cameron and Cate. May your grief be tempered by the many wonderful memories and stories about Mike. Much love, Kathy Whitsett

I transferred to St. Cyril´s after Christmas 1983 and knew no one at the school. After being thrown into Mrs. Longo´s class for my first experience with the school, it was Mike who was the first kid to approach me and invite me to be friends. He showed me around and introduced to me everyone and made me feel at home. I´ll always remember Mike for his kindness and his sense of humor. Sadly we lost touch after college and only after running into his brother Chris over the years did I find out last year that he was sick and fighting for his life. I reconnected with Mike and caught up some and he was still the same person I always remembered. Kind, funny, and warm. My sincere condolences to his entire family.
