Raymond W. Mehr Jr.

Raymond W. Mehr, Jr., 87 of Scottsdale, AZ, passed away peacefully on April 13, 2025 at his home. Raymond was born in North Bergen, NJ, on March 7, 1938, to the late Raymond and Helena Mehr. After growing up in North Bergen, his early work life included working for Tuscan Milk Company and as a longshoreman on the docks in New Jersey. He found his passion when working at an IHOP in Elizabeth, NJ later going on to own his first IHOP in Phoenix, Arizona in 1971 with Gina. Since that first restaurant he opened three others and added much to the field as a restaurateur. He was a loving, caring, and compassionate husband, father, and friend to many. His humor and love of storytelling will be remembered by many as well as his enormous generosity. Raymond is lovingly survived by his wife of 52 years, Gina, children, Bryan, Shannon (Shawn) and children from his previous marriage to the late Virginia Mehr, Raymond (Jacqueline), Michelle (Tom), and Allison. He is survived by his grandchildren Katy, Ryan, Amanda, Raymond, Jack, Anna, Nicholas, Elena, Abby, Ambry, Carder, Kennedy, Austin, and Avery. He is preceded in death by his oldest daughter Suzanne Murphy (Mark) and brother Robert Mehr (Peggy). A celebration of life will be held at Hansen's Desert Hills Mortuary 6500 E. Bell Rd, Scottsdale, AZ 85254 on Friday May 2nd, 2025 at 4 pm.
