Rex Block Obituary

On Thursday, May 1, 2025, Rex Block, passed away at the age of 78 in Surprise, AZ. He was the beloved husband of Dianna Block for 58 years. Rex was born in Eugene, Oregon to David and Dessa Block. He is survived by his two sisters, Nancy Schaffer and Melanie Block. His oldest sister, Barbara Saunders is deceased. Rex lived in Eugene until he joined the Coast Guard Reserve in 1966. In 1967 Rex married his high school sweetheart and began his career as an apprentice tool & die maker. In 1973 Rex and Dianna moved to Hawaii where they both worked at Pearl Harbor. In 1980 they moved to Portland, Oregon where Rex opened his own Tool & Die Business, Inject Tool & Die, Inc. Then in 1990 they moved the business to Oak Harbor, WA on Whidbey Island. Rex specialized in the production of plastic injection medical parts and steel molds for animal feed tags. In 2009 they sold their business and retired in Sunriver, OR. Several years later they moved to Buckeye, AZ. Rex had a passion for baking bread and he was well-known for his special cinnamon rolls. He also enjoyed John Wayne movies, country music, car racing, and buying cars. In his memory, donations may be sent to the Wounded Warrior Project.
