Robert Allan Flynn

1950 - 2025

Robert Allan Flynn, beloved resident of Claremore, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully in Scottsdale, Arizona, on March 28, 2025, at the age of 74.
Born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on June 3, 1950, Robert and his four brothers were raised by loving parents, Huey and Dewell, in Tulsa, and then Claremore, where he graduated from high school in 1968. He married the love of his life, Janet van Dam Flynn, in 1971.
Robert will be remembered for his charisma, his warm smile, and his ability to make everyone he met feel important and cared for. He was passionate about helping others and built a successful law practice in Tulsa, representing injured workers for more than 30 years. He called his clients his friends and those who saw him at work can attest that he fought fiercely and deftly on his clients' behalf.
Robert was adventurous and took the family on many cross country road trips to California. He enjoyed aviation and would say that there is no more free feeling in the world than flying an airplane. The car business was in his blood. He loved animals, including most recently a small herd of horses, ponies, and donkeys; chickens, a cat (Sammy), and dog (Kai). He found great joy in organizing fun outdoor activities for his children growing up and especially for his granddaughter, Arya. He was always keen to play any game and maintained an encyclopedic knowledge of sports.
Robert is survived by his loving wife, Janet; his children, Stacie, Michael and his wife, Aliya, Stephanie, and Matthew; his granddaughter, Arya Flynn McShane; his sibling(s), Michael, Jack, and William; and many other relatives and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Huey and Dewell, and his older brother, Larry.
An event to celebrate Robert's life will be held on Friday, April 4th, 2025, from 4:00pm to 5:30pm at Overture Kierland in Scottsdale, Arizona, and another event or service will be held in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at a date to be determined.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests donations be made in Robert's memory to Down Syndrome Association of Tulsa, an organization near to his heart.
Robert would ask that everyone enjoy "another day in paradise, "let no one steal your peace" continually ask yourselves, "what would love do?"
