Ruby Viola "Bess" Campbell

Ruby (Bess) Viola Campbell was born on June 8, 1928 at her family homestead in Glendo, SD and passed from this life on June 13, 2025 in Mesa, AZ at age 97.
She was the daughter of Harvey Allen and Lydia (Smith) Wilkinson and was the youngest daughter in a family of 8 children consisting of five girls and three boys.
Her father died from illness when she was 8 years old and Ruby handled many ranch chores and worked cattle until she married.
Ruby married Elmer Campbell on November 5, 1949 and had three children, Carolyn, Stanley and Steven. She is survived by her three children, three grandchildren, Christine, Matthew and Elissa along with two great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by both parents, her brothers, sisters, her husband Elmer and grandson Michael.
Early in their marriage Elmer and Ruby lived in Wyoming, Colorado, Arizona and California before settling down in Prescott AZ in 1960. In Prescott, Ruby worked various jobs and retired after Managing the Prescott Federal Credit Union for several years. After the death of her husband, Ruby moved to Mesa AZ where she lived with her daughter for 20 years.
She was a wonderful lady of great faith in Jesus Christ having been taught the gospel by her mother-in-law, and was baptized into Christ at a Gospel Meeting held in Mammoth, AR. The most important things to Ruby during her life was her faith in Christ Jesus and her love of family.
She will be very much missed by her family and her brethren in Christ.
Memorial service will be held at Legacy Funeral Home, Rose Chapel 1130 S. Horne Mesa, AZ 85204 on Tuesday, July 1, 2025 at 1:30pm.
Interment will be at the National Memorial Cemetery in Phoenix, AZ 2929 Pinnacle Peak Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85024 at 10:00am
