Shirley Moore Obituary

It is with great love and deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Shirley Evelyn Moore a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and cherished friend. Shirley passed away leaving behind a legacy of warmth, friendliness and quiet strength that touched everyone who knew her. Shirley E. Moore (90) Sun City, AZ, passed away on May 18,2025. Shirley was born in Norwood, Ohio on July 8, 1934.
Shirley is lovingly remembered by her children: Gregory Moore, Mesa, AZ Jay Moore (Karen) Bethel, Ohio and Amy Crowley (Richard) Georgetown Texas. Shirley will also be greatly missed by her grandchildren: Anna Stearns (Chad) Evan Moore, Adam Bunton, Cooper Crowley, Great grandchildren: Haven Bunton and Isabel Stearns.
Shirley was preceded in death by her beloved parents Howard and Helen Bee, sister Eileen (Bee) Fant, Eugene Moore, her husband of 60 years and grandson Tanner Bunton.
Shirley grew up in. Bethel, Ohio and liked to reminisce about how she was her daddy's helper while he fixed things around the house. There she also married her high school sweetheart Eugene in 1953. Soon after they moved to Idar-Oberstein Germany where Eugene was stationed in the army. They loved their time there and welcomed their first son Greg. Once back in the states- they returned to Bethel and welcomed Jay and Amy into the family. They attended the Church of Christ, and she was very involved in many of the youth activities. Over the years they had several businesses in town and Shirley was always very much involved, whether it was bookkeeping, mixing paint or assembling things. She was a hard worker and wore many hats over the years.
After Eugene's retirement they relocated to Sun City, AZ where they quickly acclimated and formed many strong friendships. They loved going to the Recreation Center, lunching with friends, riding bikes, road trips and she even took up scrapbooking with her daughter. Special memories were always made when all the kids and grandkids would visit. After Eugene's passing, she moved into a condo where she really blossomed, and everyone remarked she was reverse aging.
Shirley possessed a rare ability to make everyone feel seen and valued, effortlessly lifting spirits even in the most challenging of times. Shirley found tremendous joy in spending time with family and friends. She loved visiting her daughters' family in Texas where everyone there quickly fell in love with her. She loved to tell everyone about all her good friends in Texas. She also loved to watch cooking videos and color on her iPad. Some days, she also found joy in just relaxing and watching some of her favorite shows like The Gilmore Girls and Heartland.
Shirley's smile and laughter always brightened those around her when she attended dinner or entertainment at El Dorado where she resided the last four years.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Services will be held at on June 11, 2025, in Sun City, AZ. She will be laid to rest with her husband at the National Memorial Cemetery in Cave Creek, AZ.
