Chabai, Albert John



Albert John Chabai passed away on June 17, 2017 at the age of 88. He was born to Louis Carl and Maria Chabai and raised in Butte, MT. He attended Montana State College in Bozeman earning a BS in Engineering Physics. He continued his education at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, PA, receiving both a Masters and Doctorate degree in Physics. In 1958, Albert and Ann were married and moved to Albuquerque, where Albert accepted a position at Sandia National Laboratory working 37 years as a distinguished member of the technical staff.



He is survived by his wife, along with six children and their families, including eleven grandchildren, as well as his sister, a nephew and niece and their families of Tucson, AZ.

In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to Joy Junction Homeless Shelter (JoyJunction.org or by mail to P.O. Box 26568 Albuquerque, NM 87125) to honor Albert's wishes. Albert was loved and admired by his family and friends. He will be greatly missed and always remembered. Our hearts are comforted knowing he is peacefully held in God's loving arms.
