Barbara Herbert





Barbara Herbert, longtime resident of Albuquerque, passed away peacefuly with family at her side on November 9, 2023. She was born in Ft. Collins, CO in 1930, grew up in Denver and moved to Albuquerque in 1950. She is preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Howard, and a daughter, Debara Boone.

Barbara is survived by her three children, Howie Herbert Jr. and his wife, Jean, daughter, Tamara Ward and husband, William and Jeffrey Herbert and wife, Melissa, as well as her beloved cat, Kitty. She was blessed with eight grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Barbara was involve with Assistance League Board, where she was a past President of local chapter, and served on the National Assistance League Board. She had a zest for life that included many many travels throughtout the world, and experiences such as swimming with dolphins, zip lining and airplane gliding in her late eighties. She was an animal lover that supported numerous animal causes. The family requests in lieu of flowers, people make a donation to an animal charity of their choice.

A celebration of Life is being planned for the spring.

So many great memories living next door to Howie and Bobbi for 37 years before moving to Sandy, UT to be closer to my son Evan. Rest in peace Bobbi, you were a great friend . I´m sorry for your loss Jeff a Melissa.
