Catherine Francis McCarthy Keller

Catherine Keller Obituary

Catherine (Kay) Francis McCarthy Keller

12-15-1936 to 10-7-2025

Kay and her husband moved to New Mexico in 1958, recent graduates from mid-west colleges. The early years were tough: dusty, filled with a commute back and forth to Window Rock, AZ, and the work of building a community in the southwest. Over time, Kay came to love the pink glow of the sunset against the Sandia Mountains. She also preferred a watermelon pink lipstick. An avid golfer and downhill skier, these activities often came with the recommendation "that lipstick was not required". Nonetheless, throughout life, she insisted on living equipped at all times with a good lipstick.

We remember her fondly for her lipstick, and for the extraordinary strength that carried her through nearly 50 years of diabetes.

She is survived by three children, seven grandchildren, and one great-grandson. We trust that in the next life, there is an endless supply of watermelon pink, both sunsets and lipstick.

Please send condolences to [email protected]. Memorial donations may be sent to The Remington-Employee Appreciation Fund, 16922 Hierba Drive, San Diego CA 92128, attention R.Mathews. It is the Remington staff who lovingly cared for Kay and continue to care for Terrence.
