Christopher Chavez Obituary
Christopher John Chavez, 66, passed away peacefully in his home on November 26th, 2025, surrounded by his wife and daughters.
He is survived by his beautiful wife, Mary Ann, of 45 years. He is also survived by his daughters Nadine (husband Jared), and Rowena (husband Vicente); grandchildren Valen, Dominic, Emma, Emalyn, and Rhys; mother Nestor; brothers Duane, Kenny, Albert (wife Victoria), Adrian (wife Michelle), and sister Lorraine. He is preceded in death by his father Antonio (Tony) Chavez.
Christopher was born in Albuquerque to Antonio and Nestor Chavez. He was a member of the Sociedad de San Jose in Torreón, NM. Chris was very proud to be the son of Tony and Nestor, who were from Torreón and Mountainair. The connection he has to Torreón runs deep and he dedicated a lot of time to researching his ancestry. He enjoyed the outdoors and traveling the world with Mary Ann.
Chris was very proud of his daughters, Nadine and Rowena, but even more he truly loved his grandchildren and cherished the joy they brought. His happiest moments were spent with his family and encouraging his grandchildren to get into mischief.
He was an example of love, compassion, and kindness and lived a fulfilled life. He was the best of us and will forever be in our hearts.
Rosary and Mass will be held at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church in Albuquerque on December 12th, 2025, 9:30am.
