Christopher Hunter Obituary

Christopher Dennis Hunter

Christopher Dennis Hunter, age 67, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away unexpectedly on May 12, 2025, after heroically being involved in a pedestrian accident.

Christopher was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who lived his life with unwavering love and commitment to his family. He is survived by his beloved wife and life partner, Donna of almost seventeen years; his sons, Shane and longtime partner Diana; and Justin and wife Lishell; and his cherished grandchildren, Leo and Ivy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jean and Hank Hunter, as well as Barbara Hunter, the mother of his sons, who passed in 1988. Christopher faced that loss with strength and grace, raising Shane and Justin as a single father during their early years. Though an only child by birth, Christopher found a lifelong brother in his dear friend, Hugh Vellos and the many friends of Bill W. that he made through 36 years.

Known for his quick wit and sense of humor, Christopher brought joy and light to everyone around him. He lived a courageous life of service and was deeply committed to helping others. A mentor to many, he passionately shared a message of living clean, healthy, and joyfully with love, care, and compassion for others at the core of his values.

Christopher built a longstanding career in security. His steady presence and positivity made him a beacon in his community.

He will be remembered not only for the life he lived, but for the lives he touched.
