Dale Papuyo, 63, passed away

November 1, 2021 at home with his family by his side. He was born June 15, 1958 at Hamilton Air Force Base , CA. The son of

Celestine J. and Frances (Cruze) Papuyo. Dale was a member of the Isleta and Ohkay Owingeh Pueblo.

Dale graduated from Cibola High School, Class of 1977. Following graduation, he attended WNMU in Silver City, NM. He played football and baseball. He married his love, Marylou McNeeley. They were married 38 years. Dale was a loyal member of the Knights of Columbus, holding many different offices, including Grand Knight. He served his Lord, very active in his church, St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church. He served as a Eucharistic minister as well as serving communion to the homebound. All through the pandemic, he was a greeter at the church doors. He greeted everyone with a smile and a funny story. The whole congregation loved him, just for opening the door, he will be sorely missed. He was a devoted Oakland Raiders fan! He also cheered for Norte Dame, Los Angles Lakers, Arizona Diamondbacks and Dale Earnhardt Sr.

He was preceded in death, by his father, Celestino. Surviving in addition to his wife, Mary, is his daughter, Krystle. Mother, Frances Papuyo of Ohkay Owingeh, NM, sister, Theresa A. Papuyo of El Segundo, CA, sister Diane M. Papuyo of Albuquerque. He had many nieces and nephews and God children. And his family dogs, Killian and Mirian.
