Daren Hillery Obituary
Daren R Hillary passed away on September 25, 2025 at the age of 103. Born May 30, 1922 in Oakland, California.
Daren proudly served in the US Navy for over 25 years, and retired in 1969 at the rank of Lt. Commander. He served in 2 sessions of the NM legislature as a State Representative from Albuquerque's southeast heights.
For the last 40 years, he lived in the house he built in McIntosh, NM, in Torrance County. Every Thursday however, a trip to the city was in order without fail, for coffee at Tijeras Arroyo Golf Course, with the guys.
Daren was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Georgia A Hillery.
He is survived by 5 children, Richard, Kathy, Bob, Jeff and Liz, 14 grandchildren, 32 great-grand hildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Internment will be on Wednesday October 29, 2025 at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 12:30 PM. There will be a service prior to burial at 10:30 AM at Berardinelli Family Funeral Service, 1399 Luisa St. Santa Fe, NM
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donating to the animal rescue shelter of your choice.
