David Lawrence Salazar

David Lawrence Salazar, 60, beloved father, brother and friend was taken from us very unexpectedly on Aug. 7th, 2022. He was a lifetime resident of Albuquerque and retired at the early age of 43 from the City of Albuquerque in 2005. He was self-employed as an electrician journeyman, truck driver and landscaper after retirement. He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Damacio and Carmen (Bachicha) Salazar and their infant son, James. He is survived by his son, Jeremy Cotter-Salazar and daughter, Cienna Luna-Salazar, his seven brothers and sisters; Robert Salazar (Susan), Virginia Salazar (Dale Sonnenberg), Jane Salazar King, Kathy Kelly (Pete), Darlene Judge (Ned), Dennis Salazar and Richard Salazar, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and his ex-wives who loved him dearly, Carole Cotter and Janis Martinez. David was a very kind and caring soul. He was always willing to help, no matter the task at hand. He was never lazy, in fact he enjoyed working much like his father, Damacio. This work ethic was also passed down to his son, Jeremy. David was quick-witted and had such a great sense of humor, he made everyone laugh. He was a true outdoorsman and loved fishing, hunting, boating and just being out in nature. Abiquiu Lake was his absolute favorite. He also loved to watch all sports and was awesome at playing baseball/softball and basketball from a very young age. David truly excelled in everything he did.
