Demecia Sanchez Obituary
Demecia (DeeDee) Sanchez went to the Lord on October 23, 2025 with her husband of 68 years, Leo, by her side. Born on December 26, 1940, Demecia was a life long resident of Los Padillas.
As a devout catholic, Demecia could be found keeping an hour's watch at the Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration Chapel at Ascension Church. She enjoyed spending time fishing at her cabin in Chama but her pride and joy came from loving and adoring her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who affectionately called her Nana.
Demecia was preceded in death by her parents Magdaleno and Andrea (Padilla) Chavez; siblings Eddie, Frank, and Equilda; grandsons Andre and Joseph Sanchez.
She is survived by her loving husband Leo; sons Mateo (Michelle) and Ted (Debby); daughters Cindy and Melissa (Steve); grandkids Mateo, Michael, Teddy, Leo, Nicole, Andrea, Alexandria, and Steven; and five great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held Wednesday, November 12, 2025 at 10:00am at Ascension Catholic Church with visitation starting at 9:00. Interment will follow at Los Padillas cemetery.
