On Saturday
March 25th we said goodbye to an angel from Shreveport, Louisiana. With a heart of gold and the most beautiful aura, Win was a blessing to every life she touched. Everyone who was lucky enough to be in her presence knew she was a special soul. She was a woman of faith with a life passion for helping others. For more than 20 years she worked at the American Red Cross, always putting others happiness and comfort above all else the epitome of selflessness. Her heart overflowed with love that knew no boundaries. With her whimsical sense of humor, she was the reason for countless smiles. She knew laughter was good for the soul and made her contributions regularly. You never had to question where you stood with Win. She was direct and held herself and others accountable, never mincing her
words. She saw the best in everyone and strived to help them see it in themselves.
In her personal life, she enjoyed time with loved ones, skiing, fishing, reading, and nurturing her relationship with God every Sunday. Although, 16 of those Sundays she was watching football with God and her best friends.
She was not only the root of the family, but the trunk that held the family tree together. She is survived by a beautiful family that vows to continue contributing to the world in the same manner she did.
A Celebration of life will be held for Win on Saturday April 1st beginning at 2pm at the family's residence located at 1726 Soplo Rd SE Albuquerque, NM 87123. All friends and family are welcome to attend.

I thought of Ms. Edwina recently and looked her up, and I was saddened to discover this obituary. She was my supervisor for my first "real grown-up job" after college, and she taught me a huge amount about the working world--and the world in general. At the very beginning I was a bit intimidated by her presence and experience, but soon I realized that she was one of the sweetest possible people and I was beyond fortunate to work for her. I was truly delighted when, years after I left the Red Cross, she called me to congratulate me on the birth of my daughter. The world has truly lost a bright light. I'm glad to have known her.
