Eulogio Silva Obituary
Eulogio H. Silva "El Muchacho Allegre" was born January 27, 1923 in Bernalillo, New Mexico. He passed away Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at home while surrounded by his family, at the age of 92.
Eulogio honorably served in the US Army, in Bismark Archipelago, New Guinea, Asiatic-Pacific Theater and the Philippines, as a ground aircraft observer. He managed the first Department of Motor Vehicle Office in Bernalillo, New Mexico, served with the Bernalillo City Police Department and also served as Under Sheriff. Eulogio later retired from the State Department of Transportation. He enjoyed getting together with his friends at the American Legion Post 69 and loved to dance, play the guitar and accordion.
Eulogio was preceded in death by his wife, Cecilia F. Silva. He is survived by Maria Estella; children, Grace Mezza, Herman Silva and wife JoAnn, Ralph Silva, Rosella Acosta, Monica Martinez, David Silva, John Silva and wife Rhonda, Anthony Silva, Fred Silva, Lisa Martinez and husband Arthur; 28 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; as well as many other family members and friends who loved and will miss him.
Services will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Bernalillo, NM. A Rosary will be recited on Monday June 22, 2015 at 7:00pm with a viewing beginning at 6:00pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at 10:00am with a viewing to begin at 9:00am.
Burial will follow at Our Lady of Sorrows Cemetery with United States Army Honors.
Pallbearers will be Danny Silva, Max Silva, Chris Martinez, Anthony Silva Jr., Gabriel Silva, Fred Silva and Fred Silva Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Baros and Paco Silva. Arrangements by Direct Funeral Services, 2919 4th St. NW.ABQ. 505-343-8008.

Gracie and Silva family. I send you my most sincerest condolences from my heart. Your dad was a very wonderful and fun person. He and my brother Louie were best friends and I know they are rejoicing together in heaven. I will miss his phone calls, God bless you all with comfort, His Grace,and love. I am truly sorry Eulogio left us. Rest in peace mi amigo.

No matter what I write is never adequate in moments like these. We can say though, that our hearts go out to the entire Silva Family, and we will always remember the joyous memories that we are privileged to have in knowing Eulogio.
