Felix Silva, Jr.

Felix Silva, Jr., age 90, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2024, into the hands of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Felix Jr. was born in Bernalillo, NM, on October 21, 1933. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 51 years, Charlotte, his parents, Felix Sr. and Susie, his siblings Tony, Jerry, Glenda, and Ignelda, and numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins.

He will be remembered by his family, godchildren, friends, bikers, and the countless customers who graced the family business, Silva's Saloon in Bernalillo. Felix was born into the business after prohibition in 1933. He worked side by side with his father and took control in the 1970s. He loved to joke and share stories with everyone at the saloon. He graduated from OLOS High School, where he played basketball and football. His only absence was when he served our country in the US Army during the Korean War. Felix also enjoyed boating, fishing, and hiking.

He is survived by his daughter Denise, his son Felix III (Christine), his grandsons Scott and Aaron (Carrie), his great-grandchildren Madison and Luke, and his special cousins Hooky Apodoca (Wilhemena) and Lynda A. Sanders (Jon).

Special thanks to the administration and staff at Genesis Rehab Center on Forest Hills, where Dad spent the last two years of his life in Hall 300, all CNA's, but above and beyond care: Isabelle, Rueben, Raylyn, Shirley, Chris, and nurses Eva and Daisy; and special thanks to Victoria and Stephanie at the Veterans Administration in ABQ for their undivided attention and concern.

Dad requested numerous times that he wanted a private service with his immediate family only. Thank you for helping us carry out his wishes. His cremation, Catholic services, and interment with his wife, Charlotte, at Sunset Memorial Park have all taken place. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Bernalillo, NM, or a Mass in Felix Jr's honor may be held.
